Tuberculoid Leprosy (1)

It is characterized histologically by the presence of epithelioid cell granulomata which are focalized and surrounded by thick zone of lymphocytes. Langhan's giant cells may be present. The granuloma may extend and erode into the basal layer of the covering epidermis. Dermal appendages and nerves are heavily infiltrated and may be completely destroyed. Acid fast bacilli are invariably absent.
